One of the classic symbols of feminine fashion is the crinoline petticoat. Worn to maintain fullness to a woman's dress, it also serves to tease the sexual imagination of the men that see it peeking from beneath. I'm sure I was only one of many boys of the 1950's and 1960's that wished to lie on the floor and look up a woman's dress to see what mysteries were to be found among the feminine frills of her petticoats.
